The Waxing Moon is the lunar phase that occurs between the New and Full Moons, the term encompasses the phases known as Crescent, First Quarter, Gibbous, and Three-Quarters. When the Moon is a Waxing Crescent; the dark side is to your left, more or less, and the bright Crescent is to your right. (Sometimes the Moon is tipped a little, so it may not be exactly right or left, but you will know what I mean if you go outside and look at it.) The Waxing Crescent Moon rises after sunrise and sets after sunset - it is only seen in the night sky for a short time after the sun goes down.

While you may restrict your rituals to the New and Full Moons alone, there may come a time when you need to work a spell between phases, or you simply want to cast a circle, for whatever the reason. As individuals and as a group the Silver Moon Crow Coven can and has found many uses However among the Silver Moon Crow Coven we appreciate the Moon in all her phases.

When planning your magical workings the Waxing Moon will often serve the same function as the New Moon, if with slightly less impact. Again You can use this time to perform waxing, drawing, increasing, or growth spells. Don't be afraid to work by yourself, sometimes your magick doesn't need a large audience. Use productive thoughtforms.
